How to copyright a work in India

Step by Step Tutorial to get a work Copyright in India.
1. Open copyright.gov.in and click on the link that is shown in pic


2. Fill out the necessary information as shown below

3. After that Login with your credentials and Click on E-Filing of Applications and you will see something like this as shown below:

4. After Clicking Red color button, you will see something like this


Now, fill out the application according to the Steps mentioned above i.e

Step 1 Form X1V
Step 2  Statement of Particulars
Step 3 Statement of Further Particulars
Step 4 Payment Details.


1. Complete the Form XIV, Press Save button and go to second step.

2. Now, Fill up statement of particulars, press save button and go to third step.


3. Third step is an important step because in this step you have to mention the type of work that you want to copyright. Click here to know more about Copyright work in India. Now you have to Fillup the Statement of Further particulars.Your work can be Literary,Dramatic, Musical or Artistic. Click on save button and move to next step.

4. After that Fillup the payment details. Currently IPO/DD is applicable.

5. After completing this steps a diary number will be generated. Please keep it save for future reference.

6. After that take print out of Copyright registration Slip and Acknowledgement Slip and send the particulars to the address mentioned below:
