It is a very important news for all those online users who are using the Internet for Online Transactions. While filing an I-T Return Online a man lost Rs 1 lacks.[i] A phished U.R.L (Uniform Resource Locator) was served to him in his Electronic Mail in the name of I-T Return Online and he got trapped in this trick. I don't know why we people don't take online security seriously?
Nowadays, It is a very serious issue. Each and everything is online. Now your bank is in your pocket in the form of Smartphone. If you can't take online security seriously then Internet world is not for you. Sorry for the hard words but I become very angry after reading this type of news. Peoples need to aware of this type of crime because this types of crimes are increasing day by day. Don't perform any online transaction if you are not aware of the concept of Internet Security.
So, What Basically a U.R.L is:
As its name suggests, A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is an address of the resource on the Internet which you want to access. For example, In the real world, it is similar to the home address. Without an address, you can't reach your destination place.Similarly, You can't reach a website without a valid U.R.L. A U.R.L is located in the address bar of the web browser.
In the pic above, https://www.facebook.com is legitimate U.R.L but in the phished website it can be any other U.R.L which redirect you to the website similar to facebook but it will not be a legitimate facebook website.
If you are doing any online transaction or any other important online activity online then follow the steps mentioned below:
